At Bayou Dog Training, we offer in-home training programs where you and your pup can feel comfortable.
We tailor our training to meet you and your family's unique needs.
We use your everyday routine in your own home as to make the training more achievable with better consistency.
Any dog can learn new tricks!
Bayou Dog Training's belief is that the best time for a puppy to learn its core routine in a new home is between the ages of 10 weeks to 16 weeks.
But with any dog, the earlier you teach them which behaviors will get them love and affection (and not the dreaded NO), the quicker you will see good behavior more consistently.
We are here for You!
No matter the obstacle, i.e. family dynamic, multiple dogs in the home, disability, and/or any limitation, we try our best to make all the training work for each member of the family, teaching each individual how best to approach training.
We are "on call" for our clients and will help even if it is outside of the regular training session.
Our goal is to keep dogs in the home, and not at the shelter or rehomed multiple times due to behavior.
Positive Reinforcement
Bayou Dog Training uses Positive Reinforcement training which involves treats and clickers.
We teach how to mark behaviors and then phase out tools like the clicker.
We tackle at home situations like reactivity to knocking doors, doorbells, doors opening, phone notifications (ex. Ring & Life360), counter surfing, food aggression, and resource guarding.
We use tools including, but not limited to, clickers, bells, whistles, spray bottles, head halters, specialized leashes, and certain training collars.
We DO NOT use any tool without the full consent and cooperation of the owner, and do not use any form of negative reinforcement, EVER.
